July, 2007
Dear co-laborers:
We received a large special offering during the month of February. Most of that money went toward getting a special foot and ankle brace the physiotherapist at the hospital had prescribed for Cheri, in-home sessions of physical therapy and hiring a lady to help with the house cleaning. The physical therapy has definitely helped Cheri, but she still has a long way to go before we can say she is close to normal with her walking and the use of her left arm and hand. Leir, I mentioned in our last letter, is the lady we hired to help with the cleaning. We have come to the end of what that special offering gave us, but will be able to continue through the month of August because of two other smaller special offerings received in July. If we are to continue to see improvement in Cheri's mobility, we need to continue the therapy sessions. Please pray with us that God will continue to supply the necessary finances.
The missions' conference in March with brother Evan Williams and his wife Carmen, BIMI missionaries from Ireland going to Honduras as church planters was both a challenge and a blessing to us and to the church. While the faith promise decreased from last year, we have been able to continue our support of all the missionaries at the same amount, at least to date.
Daniel and Leir Rangel joined the church the week following the conference.
In April the car that had served us faithfully for over 300,000 kilometers since 1995 decided it had had enough. When Pastor and Mrs. Spilger were here last year, they expressed a desire for us to get a newer car, and a bit bigger. I took the old car to the mechanic's to see about repairs, and was told it would cost quite a bit more to repair that what it was worth. To make a long story shorter, we now are driving a 2001 model car that is a bit bigger and practically paid for. The government gave us nearly 500 euros for the old car to get it off the road, and several of you have given special offerings that have paid all but about $1900.00 of the approximately $11,000.00 that we owed the day we decided on the car to buy. Well over half of the amount given has come from Grace Baptist Church in St. Louis, Missouri, our sending church. We thank all of you who have had a part in this and ask that you pray we can get the rest paid before summer's end.
Also in April two young men from Brazil, Allan and Daniel (the son) presented themselves as candidates for baptism. Since then Allan has moved into the city of Malaga and no longer attends services in our church.
Daniel expressed a desire to wait until after his eleventh birthday so he could be baptized when he was eleven like both of his parents. We had a special baptismal service for him July 22.
We were privileged with the visit of our daughter Kassie and their oldest son, Israel, for a couple of weeks in May. Kassie was a great help, both in the kitchen and in the yard. I had prepared a spot for a small garden before she arrived and we sowed some okra and sweet corn, which we are now enjoying. One of the things she requested just before leaving was that we try to get someone to come who would be willing to work with Cheri the days the therapist doesn't come. She has been here, seen my schedule and that was her suggestion. Her first recommendation was one of our nieces, who won't be able to come for some time because of obligations in her own family. Kassie seemed to think that if someone could work with Cheri on a daily basis, she would be able to walk much more like normal after about six months. Would you please pray with us about this matter, also?
Lord willing, we will be having a vacation Bible school, quite possibly for entire families, the second week of September. Please pray for those who are working on preparing the material, those who will be doing the teaching, and that we might be able to make some new contacts as a result of this effort.
Again, thank you, each and every one of you, for faithfully praying for us.
We know we are still here and doing what we do because you have been faithful to pray. We are also very grateful to each of you who have had a part in meeting our financial needs (and a few wants). We serve a great God and consider it a privilege to be His ambassadors to this part of Spain.
God bless you all.

Clayton and Cheri Livengood
