Urgent Prayer Request Update # 4  June 29, 2009

Dear Friends and Supporters:

On Thursday, the 25th of June, the city inspectors showed up at the church. They gave us a list of items that need to be done but did not give us any timeframe to work on the repairs. They asked us to show up at their office Monday morning to give their decision.  We have been waiting for them to show up to give us this list of items to work on since May 5th.

On May 5th the church was closed down by the local judge and city officials for not having a permit to use the building for public use. On the 6th of May, we received permission by word of mouth that we could continue to have public services. Since then we have spent over $3,500 to finish some electrical work, install fire extinguishers, emergency lights, etc. We have passed the inspection from the fire department as far as emergency evacuation. Praise the Lord! Now we need to do the rest of the work as soon as possible. Please pray that the city and judge will give us more time to do the rest of the work.

Here is a list of the items that need to be done:  a drop-down ceiling for the main auditorium (US$3,674.54), new ladies’ bathroom (US$3,149.60), architectural drawing approved by the city for bathrooms (US$997.37), drywall ceiling for the rest of the church (US$1,131.23), new kitchen floor and tile on the walls (US$1,391.07), finish the tile on the walls in the men’s bathroom (US$524.93), and miscellaneous electrical work (US$510.97). We have been able to raise US$3,400 for this project. Praise the Lord! Please pray!

We have seen a revival among our people to give money and time towards this project. Pastor Owens and I are praying that we can raise all these funds among the people from offerings and from selling items that we have. We do not know from where the money will come, but we believe in a great God Who will supply all our needs in His perfect timing. Please pray for the people of the church here. We have a great church full of people who love the Lord!

The work of starting new churches is going forward even during the battle to keep the church doors open. The Bible college is still open, and there are close to 40 students in the evening classes. I’m a man wearing many hats of responsibility; often I have a hard time knowing where to turn and deciding what project is more urgent. The plan and goal of distributing one million tracts in Argentina is still going forward!

We could use a work team here at our church to help us take care of many details at the church.  You are welcome to come!

Please pray for me! I need to hire some men to help me get this project at the church done. The church is full of good men, and it is hard to know which one to pick and how to pay for their salary.

Thank you for your prayers! Please pray for Argentina! The cause of reaching Argentina for Christ is constantly on my mind! Please pray!

For souls,

Brian R. George
