Radio Station “FM Bethel”
The radio station is on 24 hours a day! With the help of a computer, the broadcast goes out automatically. Praise the Lord for the computer donated to the radio station. We would like to thank the churches that have prayed and given for this vital ministry. We are still in need of a radio technician to come and help us with the signal; it is very weak, and many people cannot hear it clearly. We currently have 300 watts of power. Pray that God will supply the money so we can increase the power. Pray also for the need of two more towers to serve as repeaters in order to reach the city with a stronger signal. This is an exciting ministry. Just this past Sunday, we started broadcasting the services live. We are getting a response from the people that are tuning in, so it is working! Praise the Lord!
Men at Bethel Baptist Church
God has blessed this church with a lot of men. Pastor Owens is very successful in reaching men. When I go to the church, I always work with the men. I have been motivating the men to get excited about remodeling and fixing the church building and property. The church is in desperate need of remodeling, repairs, painting, building of walls, electrical work, donation of appliances for the kitchen, and upgrading the bathrooms. I want the men to donate their time and money to get the church looking first class. Our goal and desire as missionaries is for the church not to depend on the missionary for money, so we started taking some offerings for the remodeling. The people responded very well. During every service I promote this campaign to remodel and get the church looking first class.
The people are getting excited about their church. We take up one offering a week and use the funds to purchase cement, bricks, sand, paint, steel bars, and electrical supplies. So far we have done a lot of painting and electrical work, and we have put steel bars on the windows to prevent robberies. We still lack the funds to get the men’s and ladies’ bathrooms completely done. It is slow moving, mainly because of the lack of funds; but this is their church, and they will get it done in God’s timing. The people are giving and doing all the work themselves. I have been dedicating one day a week to this project. The people like it when I go in and help with the remodeling, especially if I purchase Cokes and/or sandwiches for them to eat. I enjoy working with the men. On one Tuesday I had up to 25 men working, and then another Tuesday I had just 4 men working. We are making progress! Praise the Lord!
