January – February 2011 Newsletter
Dear Friends and Supporters,
Greetings from hot and humid Tucuman, Argentina. Our summer months are December, January, and February. We have received a lot of rain in the last two months. The humidity level has been close to 95%. It has been a very hot and sunny summer. Only at nighttime do we feel a little bit of cool air.
During the summer months, our Bible college is not in session, so we work on recruiting new students. We have been averaging 40 students in our Bible college for the last four years. I have set a goal to have 60 students this year. We have sent out three teams of soul winners to go from city to city and church to church promoting our Bible college and recruiting new students. Hopefully, we will see a lot of success and many new students as we open up the Bible college for our ninth year this coming March 29th.
The Bethel Baptist Bible College has been very successful. The college and church have been able to train over 25 men to be pastors or work in full-time Christian service. So far, we have started 12 new churches here in Argentina. Praise the Lord! The Bible college is our most important ministry. This ministry will continue to train men to be pastors, and as a by-product, we will start many more new churches. Please pray for this ministry. It is worthy of your support and investment. The college has many needs, but we just keep going forward, believing that God will bless abundantly!
Concerning the property need that we mentioned in our previous two letters, the good news is that the property that we plan to purchase is divided up into three pieces—two pieces of 30 feet by 90 feet at US$5,000 each and one large piece for US$15,000. With the help of my dad and all the personal savings that we had for housing, we have purchased one of the three properties for US$5,000. I thank God for my dad and his love for the work that we are doing here in Tucuman. We still would like to purchase the second property before we build a house. This coming July we will have to move out of the house that we are renting or renew the contract for two more years at a much higher rate.
The 90 days have come and gone for the property need. I have talked to the owner of the property, and he is giving us more time. I am not sure how much time, but I continue to talk to him every two weeks. The owner is hoping that I can come up with the money.
The house that we plan to put on the property is a prefabricated wood house that is small and can be put up in ten days. During May we may go ahead and put this simple wood structure up and go ahead and move in. We still would like to build a solid brick house of at least 1,000 square feet or more. We are praying and asking God for wisdom as far as how to do this. I have total peace that God will supply the need that we have as far as housing. I'm praying and leaving it in God's hands. We will go forward by faith!
Thank you for your love and support. May God bless you richly!
