The Livengoods in Spain

My wife Liesl is in Spain with her parents and two sisters as I write this note.  She will be there three weeks.  Mrs. Cheri Livengood, Liesl's mother, has lost a lot of weight but is in good spirits and enjoying the presence of her three daughters.  She still cannot talk or walk but is receiving some physical therapy twice a month.  The Livengood family needs a lot of love right now since they are going through a hard time.  Mrs. Livengood needs constant care and love.  We thank God for all of Bro. Livengood's care and attention to his wife.

The Livengoods are planning to go to the USA for a medical furlough.  Mrs. Livengood needs urgent medical attention, including daily therapy, in order to recuperate.  They need to sell their house first in order to cover the cost of shipping household goods, as well as the purchase of a house and a vehicle in the USA.  They also are trying to find somebody who can take their church while they are in the USA.  Please pray that their house will sell and that their church in Spain will continue to go forward in good hands while they are gone.  Thank you for your prayers for this missionary family during their time of special need.  Please visit their website for more updates!!

Exciting New Ministry

“Cry of Hope”

During April 2008, the main church will be starting a new ministry to work with people who have problems with addictions. Drug addiction and alcohol use are very prevalent among the teenagers and young men here. Bethel Baptist Church has had a lot of success in rescuing young adults from these addictions. The church here has decided to officially start a ministry for these needy people. Praise the Lord!!  We plan to use the very successful program, Reformers Unanimous, started by Bro. Steve Curington in Rockford, Illinois. We are looking for current RU chapters in the USA to help by SPONSERING this new ministry in order to help us get started. This will be the first RU ministry in Argentina.

During March 2008, we plan to train 4 directors and 30 counselors. My involvement will be very minimal since we plan to continue to go forward in the area of church planting and training of preacher boys. Our goal is to have over 100 people show up every Saturday to get help and direction from the counselors in order to have hope and victory over their addictions.  Please pray for this ministry!!  We plan to call it “Cry of Hope.”  The Word of God and salvation through Jesus Christ are the only hope for these needy people.

Thank you for your prayers and support!! Please pray for God’s blessing and power to do the work in Tucuman. We desperately need God’s guidance in everything that is done.  God is blessing, but we want to continually receive God’s blessing. May God bless you richly!!
