My Parents 50th Anniversary
During the first week of August, I was able to go to Silva, Missouri, to be with my parents for their 50th Wedding Anniversary. During the week I was able to spend time with my brothers, sisters, and relatives. We praise the Lord for my parents and their faithfulness to each other. I was back in Argentina by August 11. Praise the Lord for a safe trip there and back.
My dad wrote a book entitled To God Be the Glory. It is an autobiography of his life and testimony. My dad has been a pioneer missionary in Argentina for the last 39 years. If you would like a copy of this book, please send me a note with your name and address, and we will mail it to you as soon as possible.
Cacho Fullio
Cacho grew up in San Miguel de Tucuman, Argentina. He started out his career as an actor in a theater. If you were to meet him, you would be fascinated by his colorful speech and quick mind. He is a big talker and he laughs at himself all the time. Eventually he got a job as a radio announcer, and he worked his way up to having his own daily radio show. His work and family life were all messed up, however, because of his strong addiction to drinking and cigarettes, and he eventually lost his job at the radio station because of his riotous living.
Sometime later he got a job as a director of a large camp for vacationers. It was there that soul winners from Bethel Baptist Church would come by to visit him and give him the plan of salvation. He looked forward every Saturday to the visit of the bus captain from the church. He could not leave his job because he was the only employee and the camp was open 24 hours a day, but he lost this job too. He was led to Christ at his home by Pastor Owens. Praise the Lord!
He started attending church immediately, and he started to grow in the Lord. He talked to me about his cigarette addiction. He just could not get the victory over it. He would smoke a pack a day and was having a hard time stopping. He had been smoking for the past 40 years. I invited Cacho to come to the “Cry of Hope” meetings on Saturdays and told him we would pray for him. He started to come to the meetings, and he was able to reduce the habit to one or two cigarettes a day.
Then, to our complete surprise, he announced to everyone that he was going to live at the church. A few days later, he arrived at the church with all his belongings. He found a bed in the back of the church and has been living at the church ever since. He has gotten complete victory over his cigarette addiction. Praise the Lord!
Cacho is now the official cook for the Bible college at the church. Everybody enjoys his cooking. He also is helping me with a lot of secretarial work that needs done at the church. He is well loved by everybody and has a good testimony. I wanted to include this testimony in this newsletter. Praise the Lord for the great things He has done!
