Your missionaries in...

ARGENTINA

Spanish and Italian immigrants established the strong European flavor of this land of stark diversity, the world’s eighth largest country in area.  It covers a total area of 1,073,518 square miles.  The population has grown to 36 million.  The main industries are: food processing, textiles, autos, grains, corn, oil, and cattle.  Ninety percent of the people are Roman Catholic.

For many years fundamental baptists have overlooked the missionary opportunity in Argentina.  It is truly a field that is white unto harvest, but where the laborers are so few.  Will you be willing to go for Him?

Brian’s Testimony

At the age of seven, I was saved at Prairie Flower Baptist Church in Washington, Iowa.  At the age of thirteen, my father baptized me in our church in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

At nine years of age, our family went to Argentina as missionaries to start baptist churches.  In order to communicate with the people, I had to learn Spanish, which I learned quickly by spending time talking to the kids on the street.  It was a great adventure to live in a foreign country with people that spoke a different language.  I learned the customs of the Argentines and to live like them.  At the age of 17 and 18, I helped my family in the work; street preaching, passing out tracts, teaching a class, and leading the singing.  My parents have been missionaries in Argentina for the last 26 years.

In September of 1985, I enrolled at Hyles-Anderson College.  While there, I learned more about soul-winning and how to preach better.  As I was majoring in missions, God confirmed my calling as a missionary to Argentina.  On May 25, 1991, I graduated and was ordained into the ministry on November 27, 1991

Liesl’s Testimony

While my parents, Clayton and Cheri Livengood, were in the U.S. Navy stationed in Rota, Spain; we attended a good church that preached the Gospel.  At a young age, I realized my need for Jesus to save me from an everlasting punishment in Hell.  With my mother’s guidance, I asked the Lord to forgive me of my sins and take me to Heaven when I die.  Later at the age of 15, because of doubts, I made sure of my salvation then was baptized.

My parents returned to Spain as missionaries in 1982.  I helped them there until the fall of 1988 when I went to Hyles-Anderson College.  While working in their Spanish Ministry, I met Brian.  We praise God for bringing us together and allowing us to work together in His service in La Plata, Argentina.  We want to welcome you to visit us and our people.
