Additional Ministry Update
Praise the Lord for the many souls that have been saved in the past month. Just in the last 8 days, 27 souls have been saved. Praise the Lord!! The church is growing! The work is exciting! Thank you for your prayers and support!
Bible College
The need for preachers of the Gospel and men of God is urgent since many are going to Hell, and millions wait for somebody to give them the plan of salvation. The Gospel has never been preached in many towns and villages. You can be a part of a great awakening and revival here in Argentina. The Bible college will give the national Christians the tools they need to reach the country of Argentina for Christ. The Bethel Baptist College in Tucuman, Argentina, is the place for the national Argentine to go to get training in the area of soul winning and walking with God. Pastor/Missionary Larry Owens is a great leader and trainer of men.
The Bible college is so vital because the only hope of starting new churches and reaching this country for Christ is in training preacher boys. Please pray!
The Bible college has been averaging 40 students. Praise the Lord that He has brought along our path not only Argentine nationals but also Bolivians, Chileans, and Paraguayans. Our goal for the near future is to have a student body of 120 students. To meet this goal, there is a great need to purchase property and build dormitories, classrooms, a dining hall, a chapel, a library, and housing for married couples in order to train hundreds of men and ladies. The cause of preaching the Gospel all over Argentina and surrounding countries is great! God could use you to make an investment into this project for the future of reaching Argentina for Christ.
Lord willing, a work scholarship program will be started this year to help students financially so that they can go to college and pay for their studies. In the past six years, many simply have not come, or they get discouraged because they cannot afford to pay for the room and board and tuition. This year we would like to offer the deserving students a scholarship to help pay for their studies and hopefully retain every single student. In the near future, we plan to send you more information about this scholarship fund. We praise the Lord for you, our supporters!
Starting a New Work
During September 2009, we are making plans to start a church in the city of Belen, Catamarca, and to hold a citywide evangelistic campaign. We plan to bring 40 soul winners with us and have a big event at the downtown square every night for a week. Of these soul winners, many would be Bible college students getting practical training in starting a church. Evangelist James Belisle from Washinton, Iowa, will be with us. There are ways that you can be a part of this great event.
1. Pray that the Lord will fill us with His power and strength.
2. Pray that the Lord will supply the necessary funds for this activity.
3. You are welcome to come and be part of this great event.
Prayer Requests
You could be a great blessing to the work in Argentina by praying for these different requests:
1. God’s power as I preach to the down and out and addicted every Saturday evening
2. Continued good health for our family
3. The radio ministry
4. The starting of new churches—one will be started in September of this year in the city of Belen, Catamarca.
5. Souls to be saved
6. That the Lord would provide one million Gospel tracts for Argentina
7. The Bible college and the need to purchase property
8. My wife and her pregnancy—she is due on the 19th of March.
9. The need for more missionaries to come to Argentina
10. For revival among our people
